Seminar ‘Linking Business and Academia through Mobility’
Mid-October HRH Princess Astrid of Belgium led a Belgian trade mission to South Africa. On the occasion of this event the ema2sa project coordinator organised a seminar on university – business cooperation created by international mobility at the University of the Western Cape, entitled “Linking Business and Academia through Mobility.” The focus of the ema2sa contribution has been on the educational value of exchange in the framework of the Erasmus Mundus Action 2 projects. Due to the exposure to special challenges, a new working and studying context and specific needs that are different from those encountered at home, exchange students and researchers are challenged to find solutions for which the EMA2 projects in general, and ema2sa in particular, creates the secure envirmonment and required support. This experience leads to a better capacity of students and researchers to innovative thinking and problem solving. The outcome of the seminar was the conclusion that these exchanges are beneficial to both the host and the visitor.
